An immunologically active peptide comprising approximately 15 to 50 (pref. 20-30) consecutive amino acids (AA), selected from the sequence (I) is new:VWGIRQLRAR LQALETLIQN QQRLNLWGX KGKLIXYTSV KWNTSWSGR (I). In (I), X = C or S. Also claimed are: (a) the peptide produced either recombinantly or synthetically; (b) an isolated DNA fragment coding for a peptide as above; and (c) a test kit for the detection of viral antibodies causing immune deficiencies, pref. a Western Blot or an ELISA. |
