The groove cutting device has a rest frame (1), a tool (3) for removing material, a connecting element (5) for connecting to a drive component and a fixing and clamping device to fix the frame to the tube. The tool may be a milling disc cutter or a shaft-type milling cutter and it may be directed along, perpendicular to, or inclined to the tube axis. It may be exchangeable and it also may be possible to connect a power drill to the device by the connecting element.
