PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the reproduction of >=2 kinds of optical disk differing in recording system and the reproduction of an information recording part and a magnetooptic recording area consisting of pits of a magnetooptic disk by using a single optical head. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an optical head 30 having a light source, an objective which converges the light beam emitted by the light source on an optical disk, an optical element which separates the light beam made incident through the objective and reflected by the optical disk into light beams, and a photodetection part having photoreception parts receiving the separated light beams. A signal processing means generates a 1st signal by adding the output signals from the photoreception parts and generates a 2nd signal by performing a subtracting process. A discriminating means discriminates and kind of the optical disk to switch the processing operation of the signal processing means and when the loading of a magnetooptic disk is discriminated, the signal processing means outputs the 1st signal for the information recording part and the 2nd signal for the magnetooptic recording area, thereby performing a reading process. |
