<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To communicate without affecting other communications even in such an environment in which the same frequency band is used in an adjacent cell by transmitting while gradually increasing the number of communication channels used in accordance with the gradual increase of a low speed transmission rate. SOLUTION: A controlling part 42 does not encode an information bit stream S40 with a user's desired bit rate from the beginning, but divides it into four steps, increases a bit rate gradually, finally encodes it with the desired bit rate and spreads it. Then, the part 42 transmits a transmission signal S46 while gradually increasing its transmission power as a rate occupied by one channel among the entire channel numbers becomes larger in accordance with the bit rate of each step. In such a case, a control signal is exchanged between a base station and a portable telephone set as a warm up period until an information bit stream S41 read from a buffer 41 reaches a desired bit rate.</p> |
