PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object communication terminal, which can be expected to improve a speaking quality at the time of communication by selecting an optimum base station high in receiving electric field intensity without regard to the receiving level of a presently receiving base station. SOLUTION: This mobile object communication terminal, which executes monitoring after feeding a power source and selects an optimum base station to execute stand-by processing, is provided with a base station selecting key 21 for selecting the optimum base station which is highest in receiving electric field intensity among receivable base stations, and when this key 21 is operated, the communication terminal newly executes monitoring to execute the selecting processing of an optimum base station even during stand-by processing. In addition, when the key 21 is operated to execute monitor processing again and a new base station is selected, the level change with the receiving electric field intensity of the previously set stand-by base station can be displayed on a display part 20, and by displaying to the effect of its being the optimum stand-by base station on the part 20, the speaking quality is improved to be suitable for a user can be notified.
