<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful as an intermediate for an antimicrobial spiro compound useful as drugs, animal drugs, fish drugs and preservatives. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by the formula (R is H or a protecting group for amino; R<2> is a benzyl or 1-phenylethyl), e.g. 7-amino-5-benzyl-5- azaspiro[2.4]heptane. The compound of the formula, e.g. the above heptane is obtained by reacting ethyl acetoacetate with 1,2-dibromoethane in the presence of a base to obtain 1-acethyl-1-cyclopropane ethyl carboxylate, brominating the acetyl group with bromine to obtain 1-bromoacethyl-1-cyclopropane ethyl carboxylate, reacting it with benzylamine, cyclizing it to obtain 5-benzyl-4,7- dioxo-5-azaspiro[2.4]heptane, reacting it with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and reducing the resultant oxime.</p> |
