Drive wheel control raises lateral resistant force of the drive wheels by increasing an engine output torque, and driven wheel control brakes the driven wheels by the brake actuator such as a hydraulic brake. As a result, sufficient deceleration of a vehicle can be obtained while retaining the stability of the vehicle.
