<p>A user drives the car up the ramp (3) until one of the driven wheels (5) is seated on two rollers (8, 9) in an aperture (4) in the ramp. As the wheel rotates, the front roller (8) drives the alternator (11) via a V-belt (10). When the driver wishes to remove the car, he puts it into reverse gear. The rear roller (9) has a pawl wheel (13), which prevents it rotating backwards, and thus provides traction for the wheel.</p> |
