摘要 PURPOSE:To efficiently remove generated malodors over a long period of time by introducing gas into a liquid catalyst consisting of an aq. alkaline soln. contg. a naphthoquinone deriv. and variable valency metal compd. and treating the gas, then specifying the relative humidity of the treated gas to a specific value or below and bringing the gas into contact with a catalyst for deodorization in the presence of ozone. CONSTITUTION:The liquid catalyst consisting of the aq. alkaline soln. contg. the naphthoquinone deriv. or hydroquinone deriv. and the variable valency metal compd. (e.g. potassium permanganate) is stored in a tank 2 at the time of treating the gas contg. malodorous components and deodorizing the gas. This liquid catalyst is sprayed by a circulating pump 4 to keep a packing material 5 wet at all times. The gas mentioned above is brought into contact with the liquid catalyst in the packing material 5, by which sulfurous materials are oxidized and removed. The relative humidity of the gas is then regulated to <=90% and the gas is brought into contact with the ozone deodorizing catalyst 9 in the presence of the ozone from an ozone generator 8, by which the remaining maloclorous components are decomposed and removed.
