The sensor has input (2) and output (3) rotary shafts linked by a torsion bar (4). A cylindrical component (10) is fixed to an end section of the input shaft. The torque is measured by the degree of overlap of this component with the output shaft. Spines on an inner land of the cylindrical part engage in slots on an external land of the input shaft to prevent rotation of the cylindrical component relative to the input shaft.
