The cavity filling process involves filling from the bottom up via a conveyor supplying the material through the bottom of the silo upwards through the material already in it to the top surface of the material. The is a tube chain conveyor (2), one vertical sector (3) of which extends through the silo (1), with upward conveying direction (7). Its supply tube has apertures or gaps in the sector in the cavity, at least in the region from which the material is supplied into the cavity.
