<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent buckling and deformation from occurring when a vertical compressive force is applied to a synthetic resin container in a approximately rectangular shape composed of long wall parts, short wall parts and corner parts by a method wherein the depth of a plurality of recessed grooves formed in the circumferential direction is set to satisfy specific relations respectively for the long wall parts, the short wall parts and the corner parts. SOLUTION: For a synthetic resin container to be filled with drinkables formed in a approximately rectangular section and divided into upper and lower sections at its trunk part with an annular recessed groove provided in the circumferential direction at the middle of its vertically long trunk part, circumferential recessed grooves 12 are formed in a plurality of stripes arranged in the vertical direction at the long wall parts 10 of the lower trunk part. The circumferential recessed grooves 12 are formed likewise at the corner parts 13 and short wall parts 15 in a plurality of stripes. With the depth of the circumferential recessed groove 12 considered as a, b and c respectively for the long wall part 10, the short wall part 15 and the corner part 13, the depth shall be such that satisfies the relation a>b>=c. While each of the circumferential recessed grooves 12 is formed being discontinuous at connecting parts 14 each between the long wall part 10 and the short wall part 13, each of the circumferential recessed grooves 12 at the short wall parts 15 is formed being continuous with each of the circumferential recessed groove 12 at the corner parts 13.</p> |
