PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water stop seal material having excellent sealability by forming a layer comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a polymer having a specified polycarbonate structure on at least either surface of a foam structure through a base material. SOLUTION: A foam structure having closed cells or both closed cells and open cells is used, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a polymer having repeating units of the formula (R is a 2-20C hydrocarbon group) is used. The molecular weight of the polymer is suitably 10,000 or above in terms of a weight-average molecular weight. The polymer used is a polyester synthesized from a polycarbonate diol and a dicarboxylic acid, a polyester synthesized from a polycarbonate dicarboxylic acid and a diol, or a polyurethane synthesized from a polycarbonate diol and a diisocyanate, and is particularly desirably a polyester synthesized from a polycarbonate diol and a dicarboxylic acid. The water stop seal material is prepared by forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition layer having a thickness of, usually, 2-100μm.
