The kitchen/bathroom stand and storage unit (10) comprises a basic trough-like frame (13) which positively engages at its two ends into at least two elongate side members (22) which in turn are connected together at the top by push-in transverse bars (26). At the bottom they are provided with coupling members for connecting the basic storage frame (13) to the supporting stand which comprises tubular uprights (30) which fit into stabilizing feet (28) which are held at the correct spacing by a distance rod (31). The trough (13) can be used to store articles such as cosmetic items, soap, bath salts etc. whilst towels and flannels can be hung up along the transverse bars (26) at the top.
