An incombustible wave absorber of the application-on-the-spot type includes a wave absorber body, and a cap attached to the absorber body wherein the absorber body is composed of a board for setting up a wave absorber made of a carbon-containing inorganic short fiber board or organic foam board and has folding portions and/or bonding portions which permit the board to be set up on the spot in the form of a hollow pyramid, wedge, polygon or corrugation, and the board is set up, on the spot, in the form of a hollow pyramid, wedge, polygon or corrugation to provide the absorber body, which is attached to the surfaces of walls, a ceiling or a floor of a field-free chamber.
