PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyvinyl alcohol-based yarn having excellent dyeability and dyeing uniformity and to provide a method for efficiently producing the yarn. SOLUTION: This disperse dye-dyeable polyvinyl alcohol-based yarn contains 1-40 wt.% of fine particles dyeable with a disperse dye, having 0.05-5μm average particle diameter and <=4 dispersion uniformity of the fine particles and contains >=4 mg of the disperse dye based on 1 g of the yarn weight.
