PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition capable of reducing the toxic level of a mediator substance in a mammalian, treating shock or preventing the generation of the shock in the mammalian and treating cachexia or obesity by adding a specific mediator activity composition. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition contains an antibody against a mediator activity composition or contains a mediator activity composition for treating obesity. Therein, the mediator activity composition has the following characteristics : (A) having a biological activity for inhibiting the activities of lipoprotein lipase, acetylcoenzyme A carboxylase and a fatty acid synthetase which are anabolic enzymes, and (B) being obtained from a mammalian macrophage according to the following processes: (i) collecting the specimens of the macrophage from a mammalian, (ii) culturing a part of the macrophage together with a stimulating substance causing penetration stimulation in the mammalian and (iii) inducing the macrophage to produce the mediator activity composition. The antibody can neutralize the biological activity in the characteristic (A). |
