PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish reduction in manufacturing costs for a jet engine and in running costs of an airplane equipped with the jet engine and to solve pollution problems due to harmful exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A jet engine is provided with a jet engine main body 10, a fuel supply unit 11 which is arranged in the jet engine main body 10 and feeds water serving as fuel to a combustion chamber 13, and a compression air supply unit 12 feeding compressed air to the combustion chamber 13, while in the combustion chamber 13, a high frequency heating unit 14 is arranged. When water serving as fuel and compressed air are fed to the combustion chamber 13, high frequency heating is carried out by means of the high frequency heating unit 14 for causing phreatic explosion, and this explosion energy is used as thrust. |
