<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely set the initial height of a torch regardless of the waviness and the deformation developed on a material to be worked and the internal distance between the torch and a sensor, at the time of starting the cutting-off or welding, etc., of the material to be worked by using the torch of a plasma torch, laser beam torch, etc. SOLUTION: An elevating/lowering bracket 4 is lowered by driving an elevating/lowering motor 2 and fitted to a guide member (guide bracket) in the vertical direction, and the tip part of the torch 1 energized downward is brought into contact with the material to be worked with a spring. Since the torch 1 is stopped by contacting with the material to be worked and the elevating/lowering bracket 4 is continuously lowered, the relative shift is developed between both. The shifting is detected by the sensor, and the elevating/ lowering motor 2 is stopped and thereafter, the elevating/lowering bracket 4 is elevated to the preset height.</p> |
