Bales are broken up using a device comprising a spear (2) housed inside a mounting (3) with fixtures (8, 9) for securing it to fastener, and a knife (1) formed by a blade (12) and a tube (13) in which the spear can be inserted. The blade has a tapered shape with the bottom edge (14) extending at a sharp angle relative to the tube. Locking parts (17) along the a rear edge (16) of the blade cooperate with locking parts (18) in the mounting. An Independent claim is also included for the knife. |
