The machine has an ultrafiltration arrangement (11) and a regulator (23) for regulating the ultrafiltration rate. The regulator contains a fuzzy controller whose input parameters are the measurement value from a blood pressure meter (24) and at least one blood pressure trend value (TRK,TRL). Other input parameters can be used as required. The regulator has a vol.-dependent ultrafiltration profile that can be varied depending on the measured blood pressure and trend values
