A brake (1) has a brake rotor (5) turning about an axis (2), and a brake block (9) which is applied to the rotor by a spring consisting of several parts. The spring parts (10) are arranged in a curve parallel to the axis within the brake block, and are arranged axially in a cage (17) within the brake block. In a preferred version, the brake block is shaped as a tub-shaped piston. The guide cage has a protrusion (23) on the outer circumference which locates in a matching recess (24) on the brake block inner contour.
