The liner fits in the space between the saddle (1) and underlay (3) or between the underlay and the animal's back (4), where it can be adjusted to fit and fixed in place. It is made to fit the back and saddle by means of a plastically deformable or foam mass (2) or fluid consisting of two or more components, with a defined inherent pressure and adjustable in firmness, damping properties or viscosity. The mass is contained in two elastic shells (5) for the two components.
