The invention relates to a method for detecting and locating leakages by using sensor lines (5) which are insulated or arranged in an insulated manner. According to said method, the position of irregularities is determined for different parameters from the delay time and magnitude of reflected or partly reflected impulses. The delay-time images for the relevant parameters are stored or represented until a delay-time archive of as many parameters as possible is obtained. When the reflected impulse exceeds a predefined threshold in relation to previously recorded delay-time curves the corresponding area is defined as an error. New delay-time images are recorded subsequently for various parameters which as a curve are compared with the previous delay-time image of the corresponding parameter.
