A loader(2) by one(6) of its gripper systems grips an unmachined part in a ready position(10) and conveys it to a first machining station(12). The gripper by its second system(8) grips a machined part and removes it from the first machining station, and then by the first system places the unmachined part in the machining station. The loader then conveys the machined part removed from the first station to a second machining station(20) or to an intermediate storage(16) and leaves it there. The loader finally travels back to the ready position for another unmachined part.
