The powder application system has a gas feed pipe (3) with a constricted section (3.1) which has a powder inlet (4) and which is followed by a diffuser (3.2). The powder application system has a powder-laden gas generator (1) comprising a pipe (3) which is connected to a blower (2) and which has a constricted section (3.1) followed by a diffuser (3.2), the constricted section (3.1) having a powder inlet (4). An Independent claim is also included for a sheet printing machine equipped with the above powder application system.
