Motor vehicle ignition starter switch

An ignition starter switch for vehicle is connected in several switch positions which switch on the ignition and thus the combustion engine is started, or the ignition is switched off and the combustion engine is shut down. The ignition starter switch has an actuating surface (1) on or in which a biometric sensor (4) is arranged, and which with manual actuation of the ignition starter switch detects biometric characteristics of a user, and processes the characteristics and compares them with stored authorisation data; with at least continuous concordance, required additional switching functions are carried out.
