A locking mechanism for parking brakes, wherein a receiving member (7) which has outer and inner grip surfaces (8, 9) curved arcuately around a position as a center of the arc in the vicinity of the center (a) of tilt movement of a tiltably moved brake operating member (2), and which is combined with the brake operating member (2), is inserted through a through hole (11) of a locking member (10) pivotably joined to a bracket (1), the receiving member (7) being locked with respect to a returning direction with first and second locking hole edges (12, 13), which are formed on diagonal lines of a longitudinal section of the through hole (11), contacting the two grip surfaces (8, 9) and gripping the receiving member (7), the receiving member (7) being unlocked with the two locking hole edges (12, 13) leaving the two grip surfaces (8, 9) and releasing the receiving member (7).
