<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type hydraulic steering system containing a rotatable control valve having a valve core and a valve sleeve. SOLUTION: A steering device 10 for a vehicle contains a fluid motor having first and second chambers. A valve core 22 and a sleeve 24, which are relatively rotatable and coaxial, control a fluid pressure in chambers. The valve sleeve 24 is provided with first and second recessed parts 72a and 74a separated away from each other on both sides of a fluid inlet port 70a around an axis 26. The valve core 22 has a third recess 80a to intercommunicate a port 70a with first and second recesses 72a and 74a when the valve core and the valve sleeve 24 are situated in a neutral position. The valve core 22 is provided on both sides of a third recess 80a with axially extending first and second lands 90a and 90b. The first and second lands 90a and 90b are provided with return passages 100a and 100b and slots 130a and 130b are arranged in the tangential direction on both sides of the return passages.</p> |
