PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter, with which the color purity of pixels is high and color quality is improved so that there is no light loss or the like at the side part of each pixel, by adjusting the shape of each pixel (coloring pattern), which is formed by irradiating colored coating with laser light, especially, the width of a slope at the terminal part of a cross section within the specified range. SOLUTION: The colored coating is irradiated with laser light 25 through a photomask 24 having a prescribed aperture pattern and an image forming lens. In that case, an irradiation energy density E of laser light 25 is adjusted so as to satisfy the relation shown by an inequality I of E0 <=E<=10E0 and a distance between the image forming lens and the colored coating is adjusted so that a deviation (d) between the true image forming position of the image forming lens and the surface of the colored coating can satisfy the relation shown by an inequality II of |d|<=50 μm. In the inequality I, E0 expresses the density of energy for evapotranspiring the colored coating. Thus, width (a) of a slope 23 at the cross-sectional terminal part of each formed pixel (coloring pattern) is adjusted so as to satisfy the relation shown by an inequal.ity III of a <=5 μm. |
