<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human-body detector for an inside toilet which can detect the abnormal posture etc., of a human body in a toilet without receiving any influence from a toilet seat with heater provided in the toilet and, at the same time, can control the illumination and such an apparatus as the ventilating fan etc., and has a simple constitution and high human-body detecting accuracy and a highly durable self-diagnosing method by which the human-body detector can surely secure its detecting extent and can obtain highly reliable self- diagnosed results. SOLUTION: A human-body detector 1 for inside toilet is provided with a pyroelectric infrared sensor 2 incorporating a pyroelectric element, at least three independent light receiving electrodes arranged in the sensor 2, and a rotary chopper 10 which intermittently intercepts infrared rays received by means of the pyroelectric element when at least a human body exists in a toilet. Each light receiving electrode has a different detecting extent that does not contain the position of the toilet seat provided in the toilet.</p> |
