Compact purification plant for abattoir wastewater, which comprises three independent modules manufactured from stainless steel performing the following functions: a pretreatment module 2 in which the operations of sieving, desanding and degreasing are performed, a bioflocculator module 3 in which an aerobic bacterial flora which assists the metabolic degradation of dissolved organic matter as the partly purified water flows through is cultivated, and finally a bacterial bed 3 comprising an ordered plastics fill in which the water feeds a film of biomass so that virtually all the biologically contaminated substances are removed from it before it is finally discharged through a static lamellar settler. <IMAGE>
