A focusing control system for camera lens (1), provided with a light receiving element or a charge storage sensor (2), a computing element (4) for computing defocus information corresponding to a positional relation between a subject image and a predetermined plane through processing an output data of the light receiving element, a driving element (7) for servoing the camera lens (1) to a focused position according to information of the computing element (4), a lens move detecting element (6) for detecting an actual move of the camera lens in real time. A position of the camera lens (1) is computed on a weighted mean with a period of time for driving the lens at a predetermined rate as a weight as overlapping "range finding" and "lens drive". The lens position corresponding to an amount of defocus obtained through overlapping with the lens (1) is obtained thus accurately to a correction of the range finding result at high precision. |
