The procedure consists of passing the water to be treated twice through a heat exchanger, e.g. of copper, raising its temperature to 50 - 250 deg C. Before its second passage through the heat exchanger hydrogen peroxide is added to the water as an oxidizing agent, with the material of the heat exchanger acting as a catalyst for the oxidation process. |
