A gear box selector rod (17) is chosen by rotation of a selector shaft (7), and the associated gear coupler is engaged or disengaged by axial movement of the selector shaft of the respective selector rod. A mounting (13) for a manual gearchange lever (3) possesses a carrier device (12) which by means of at least a single-axis pivot link (10) is pivotally mounted around axis 2-2 for both the axial and rotational movement arrangement of the gear shaft (17) from the pivot axes (1-1 or 2-2) of the gearchange lever relative to the fixing device (11). The gearchange lever (3), is pivotally mounted , by a single-axis link (18), for the other movements of the gear shaft (17), about a 1-1 axis ,and enabled by the 1-1 or 2-2 pivot axes of the gearchange lever, relative to the fixing device (11). The linkage arrangement (18,5,6,9) connected to the gearchange lever (3), possesses two characteristic mutually perpendicular links (9;34) by which the carrier device (12) is connected to the shaft (7). One characteristic pivot link (9) is arranged both parallel to the pivot axis (2-2) for supporting the carrier device (12), against movement relative to the fixing device (11), and also to the shaft (17) to which is connected a first end (35) of a crank arm (36). The second characteristic link (34) pivotally connects the crank (36) to the carrier device (12). The gearchange lever and associated linkage arrangement (18,5,6,9) possess a linkage rod (4) and two additional single-axis links (5) and (6), parallel to each other and to the 1-1 axis of the gearchange -carrier pivot (18). The linkage rod (4) is connected by one of its ends via a pivot link (5) to the gearchange lever, and by its other end to the second end (37) of the crank (36).
