Resistive superconducting current limiter for use in alternating current supply networks

摘要

A resistive current limiter has a bulk high Tc metal oxide superconductor line having matched grain interior and grain boundary critical current densities. A resistive current limiter has a conductor line of bulk high Tc metal oxide superconductor material with superconducting grains having a critical current density within the grains precisely matched within a factor of ten to that at the grain boundaries. An Independent claim is also included for production of the above current limiter, in which the oxygen stoichiometry of the superconductor material is adjusted by heat treatment under a predetermined oxygen partial pressure.
