Trip device for a circuit breaker with an electrical fault signalisation

An electromagnet armature (24) pushes on a release bar (18) when a fault is detected. The bar is in two parts separately sprung loaded (48,50). The primary section activates the circuit breaker contacts (29,12) and also the secondary bar which latches and indicates the fault. The primary and secondary bar can be moved to push and release action or permanently coupled, (36) giving optional latching of the circuit breakers until the fault indication is released.
