PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a KANJI (Chinese character) place name, a KANA(Japanese syllabary) place name, a Roman character place name, which correspond to the inputted place name or postal code, and the high/low relation of the postal code and the place name. SOLUTION: A postal code/address data part stores a plurality of place name records as shown in (a), for example. The place name record corresponds to one area by one to one and shows the place name of the KANJI notation of the area, the place name of KANA notation, the place name of Roman character notation and the hierarchy relation of the postal code and the place name. When the place name of the KANJI notation of 'Aioichyo' is inputted from an input part, a postal code service processing part searches the place name record having the place name of the KANJI notation of 'Aioicyo' from the postal code/address data part, searches that 'Aioichyo' belongs to 'Aizuwakamatsu city' by tracing the hierarchy relation and searches that 'Aizuwakamatsu city' belongs to 'Fukushima prefecture' by tracing the hierarchy relation of the place name record of 'Aizuwakamatsu city'. |
