<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical guide grating sensor capable of surely separating and measuring the temp. and tension at once. SOLUTION: The optical guide grating sensor 1 composed of a quartz glass fiber having a double ring-like core structure having a core 11a in the center, clad 12a, around it, core 11b at its outside, and clad 12b at its outside. Only Ge is added to the core 11a and both Be and B are added to the core 11b to minimize the temp. dependence of the refractive index of the core 11b, a grating is formed in a specified range of the length of the sensor 1, whereby the transmission loss peak due to a reflection coupling from +LP01 to -LP01 at the core 11a and the transmission loss peak due to a reflection coupling from +LP01 to -LP01 at the core 11b are obtd., and the temp. and tension can be separated and measured at once from the relation between the temp. and tension dependence of the two transmission loss peaks.</p> |
