PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an automatic speed change with no sense of incompatibility along the will of a driver, and especially, a good driverbility in the running on a winding road repeating a speed reduction and an acceleration frequently, by limiting the up-shift after a braking down. SOLUTION: This shift-down control device consists of a speed shift-down control means 1; and a speed shift-down control releasing means 3 to release the shift-down by the speed shift-down control means 1, when the vehicle is in a specific operation area decided by the relation of the car speed and the accelerator opening, and the variation of the accelerator opening to the depressing side is less than a specific value, or the integrating value of the accelerator opening is less than a specific value, after a shift-down is carried out by the speed shift-down control means 1 in a speed reduction running condition according to at least the accelerator opening and the brake depressing condition is carried out. When the accelerator is depressed only a little to the depressing side, or it is not depressed more than a specific integrating value, after a shift- down in the speed reduction, the speed shift-down condition is maintained. |
