<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a total amount of a buffer capacity by connecting a space cell buffer section to a cell buffer section in addition when the number of cells in the cell buffer section exceeds the cell buffer capacity. SOLUTION: Cell buffer sections 11a-11n are respectively connected to input points 101a-101n and a memory output side of a spare cell buffer section 12 and buffer cells and provide the output to cell output points 102a-102n. When an amount of the cells in a memory of the cell buffer section 11 exceeds the memory capacity, a buffer overflow signal S1 is outputted to a control section 13. The control section 13 generates a control signal S2 used to connect an overflowed path to the spare cell buffer section 12. The spare cell buffer section 12 is connected to the cell input points 101 of the path and the control section 13 and buffers cells selected by a selector in the memory and provides the output to the cell buffer section 11.</p> |
