PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable power control of multipulse even under a high-speed transfer rate by controlling a laser power, which is subjected to sample-and-hold based on an output control pulse, so that the laser power runs up to a prescribed value. SOLUTION: LD control signals LDC1, LDC2, LDC3 perform the operation control of a first, second and third current sources 71, 72, 73 respectively. Each LD control signal LDC is set at a prescribed value by a recording output control circuit, while the current of the first to the third current sources 71, 72, 73 is each set at a specific value. A semiconductor laser driving circuit 70, in accordance with LD recording signals LD Data 1-LD Data 3, makes a semiconductor laser 3 generate multipulse emission. Thus, each output can be stably controlled for the peak power and bias power 1, 2 of the multipulse, even during the recording operation in which the laser power fluctuates by the effect of return light from the optical disk. |
