The system is capable of being updated to ensure accurate information to enable network selection. The electronic equipment (1) is connected to one or more telephone terminals (S) on the one hand, and to several telephone networks (R) on the other. The system is capable of choosing a network for a particular call as a function of tariff information contained within its memory (4). The telephone call is then directed to the appropriate network on the basis of this decision. The choice of network depends on both the time and the date of the call, and consequently a clock is built into the system. The circuit may also be capable of interrogating a server to obtain the latest information regarding tariffs.
