TRANSFER SYSTEM FOR ATM AUDIO RANGE SIGNAL AND ISDN DIGITAL SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer system for ATM audio range signal and ISDN digital signal which can shorten ATM cell assembly and disassembly delay time by deleting the transmission channel range required for the communication of audio, FAX, audio band data and ISDN digital signals inputted to an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) network from an STM(synchronous transfer mode) network. SOLUTION: A silence detecting section detects the silence information of signals from an STM network and a signal kind discriminating section discriminates the kind of the signals. Then a signal compressing section compresses the signals and a packet assembling section forms an ATM cell by packet assembling the signals and transfers the ATM cell to an ATM network by multiplexing the cell into one ATM connection. On the receiving side, the received ATM cell is disassembled into packets and a packet disassembling section 22 de-packetizes the packets. Then a signal compressing system discriminating section 23 discriminates the compressing system of the signals, restores the signals by using the signal compressing system, generates the STM signals by reproducing silence in the restored signals, and transfers the STM signals to the STM network.
