摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a pitching angle in the rolling of a vehicle by calculating the pitching angle of the vehicle on the basis of the average value of lateral height detection values of the vehicle front part and the average value of lateral height detection values of the rear part. SOLUTION: Height sensor 1-4 are set on suspension arms of front and rear and lateral wheels of a vehicle, respectively, and the suspension arm angle of each wheel is detected and converted into a height value. An arithmetic device 5 is formed of a microcomputer and its peripheral parts to calculate the pitching angleθof the vehicle according to the expressionθ= tan-<-1> (hFa -hRa )/W on the basis of the height detection value in each wheel position. In the expression, W represents the wheel base length of the vehicle, hFa is the average value of heights hFR and hFL in lateral front wheel positions, and hRa is the average value of heights hRR and hRL in lateral rear wheel positions. Namely, hFa =(hFR+hFL)/2 and hRa =(hRR+hRL)/2. Thus, the pitching angle can be precisely detected in the rolling of the vehicle.
