PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize the multi-beam light source unit which can easily adjust beam spot intervals (specially, scanning line intervals in a sub scanning direction) and enables secure positioning. SOLUTION: This multi-beam light source unit is equipped with a 1st light source part LD1 having an even number of semiconductor lasers 101 and 102, collimator lenses 104 and 105 which are provided in pairs with the semiconductor lasers 101 and 102 and made the light beams from the semiconductor lasers 101 and 102 into pieces of parallel luminous flux, and a support member 103 which supports integrally the semiconductor lasers 101 and 102 and collimator lenses 104 and 105 while arranging them in a main scanning direction symmetrically with respect to an axis a1 of projection, a 2nd light source part LD2 which is constituted similarly to the 1st light source part LD1, and a beam composing means 202 which projects the light beams of the 1st and 2nd light source parts LD1 and LD2 closely in the sub scanning direction, and the projection axis a1 of the 1st light source part LD1 and the projection axis a2 of the 2nd light source part LD2 are arranged to be separated by a given angleβto the main scanning direction. |
