The method involves providing a first lift arm segment (128) and a second lift arm segment (218 or 130) both with one forked end, and boring linkage pin holes (132-135) in both segments. The Non-forked ends of the segments are then welded together. Prior to welding of the two segments frame couplings (136,190) with pin bores are welded to each of the two arms of the first segment and implement couplings (140,194) are welded to each of the two arms of the second segment (130).
