<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of algae, adhered to a filler in a cooling tower and growing, by cooling tower containing carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: Cooling water, containing carbide oxide, heated through direct contact with combustion exhaust gas in a gas liquid contact tower 3 is brought into ventilation contact with the atmosphere for cooling. A so formed cooling tower 13 is divided into a plurality of cooling chambers 22, 23, and 24, having fillers 25a, 25b, and 25c, which are arranged in parallel to a cooling water flow passage. Fans 26a, 26b, and 26c of the respective cooling chambers are temporarily stopped, in order. Algae adhered to and growing in the filler are dead by flowing high temperature cooling water.</p> |
