Voltage controlled switching device with relay function for operating motor vehicle lamps

The switching device comprises a plug for electric contacting, which is attached on a lamp base (2), and a connection element (4) for an electric contacting with a plug (2) of a motor vehicle. A switching signal is supplied over the plug to the connection element of the device, and a controlled power from the inboard supply is supplied over a plug (5) of the device to the lamp. The plug fits preferably on a standardised lamp base, and a semiconductor component or an electromagnetic relay provides the relay function.
