The invention relates to a printed document having a value and comprising at least one authenticity feature in the form of a luminescent substance on the basis of a host lattice doped with at least one rare-earth metal. The host lattice absorbs essentially in the entire visible spectrum, can be excited in significant parts of the visible spectrum and is at least partly transparent at least in the wavelength range ranging from 0.8 mu m to 1.1 mu m. The host lattice also has a garnet or perovskite structure. The rare-earth metal emits in the wavelength range ranging from 0.8 mu m to 1.1 mu m.
